Pesticides are a powerful weapon against pests and diseases

Pesticides are a good weapon against pests and diseases, and depending on the situation, pesticides are applied in a variety of ways. I would like to ask Mr. Duan Pui, the deputy director of the Shandong Provincial Pesticide Testing Institute, to give a lecture on the methods of pesticide application.
Duan Peikui introduced that the pesticide application method refers to the technical measures used to apply pesticides to the target. According to the type and regularity of diseases, insects and grass damage, the appropriate application method can not only improve the control effect, save the pesticide dosage, improve the use efficiency and reduce the labor intensity, but also reduce the pollution to the environment and avoid the killing of natural enemies. Improve the safety of people, livestock and crops. According to the China Pesticide Network , according to the different situations of pests and diseases, the common pesticide application methods are as follows.
First, the seed treatment method. The seed treatment method has four methods of seed dressing, jinzi, soaking and stuffing.
1. Seed dressing: It is to mix the powder or liquid with the seeds to prevent pests and diseases. Mainly used to control seed-borne diseases and underground pests. This method has less medication, high work efficiency, good control effect, and little influence on natural enemies.
2, impregnation: is to spread the seeds on the ground, the thickness of about 15 cm, and then spray the liquid on the seeds, and constantly flip to make the seeds all wet, covered with mats and other coverings, piled up after a day of sowing.
3. Soaking seeds: the seeds or seedlings are immersed in a certain concentration of liquid medicine, and the seeds or seedlings are absorbed by the medicine after a certain period of time. The method can prevent the pathogens or seedling pests on the inside and outside of the seed and the seedlings, and has the advantages of less labor, good retention effect, less dosage, and little influence on natural enemies.
4, stuffy: is to mix the liquid and seeds, then piled up for a certain period of time and then planted.
Second, the dusting method. It is to use the wind generated by the dusting machine to evenly spread the pesticide of the powder on the surface of the crop or the object to be controlled, thereby achieving the purpose of preventing disease and killing insects. The dusting method has the advantages of no water, high work efficiency, simple method, timely control and uniform distribution. The disadvantage is that it is greatly affected by the wind, has poor adhesion to crops and worms, has a large dosage, and is easy to cause environmental pollution.
Third, the spray method. It is to use a certain amount of pesticides and appropriate amount of water to form a liquid medicine, spray the medicine liquid into mist droplets with a spray device, and evenly distribute it on the surface of crops or control objects, which is the most commonly used application method. The method is applicable to pesticide formulations such as emulsifiable concentrates, liquid preparations, wettable powders, suspending agents, oils, soluble powders, etc., and can be used for stem and leaf treatment as well as soil treatment. The spray method has the advantages that the liquid medicine can be directly contacted and controlled, the distribution is uniform, the effect is quick, the control effect is good, the method is simple, and the like, but there are also disadvantages such as easy drifting loss and poor safety to the application personnel.
Fourth, fumigation method. It is a fumigant or a volatile agent that is volatilized into a toxic gas and sterilized by insecticide. This method is suitable for use in warehouses, greenhouses, soils, etc. or in densely populated areas. The fumigation method has the advantages of high control effect and quick action, but it requires sealing during indoor fumigation, and the application conditions are strict, and the application personnel must be safely protected.
Five, poison bait method. It is a poison bait made by mixing pests and rodent-loving baits with pesticides with stomach toxicity to achieve the purpose of trapping. It is mainly used to control underground pests and rodents, and has high control effect, but it is less safe for people and animals.
6. Soil treatment method. Spraying, dusting, poisoning soil, etc., the pesticide is evenly applied to the ground or a certain soil layer to prevent disease, insects and grass damage, which is called soil treatment. Many herbicides are applied this way, which extends the effect of the drug without harming natural enemies.
Seven, the smoke method. The use of special tools to disperse oily pesticides into a smoke state to achieve insecticidal sterilization. Because the particles of smoke are small, the suspension time is long in the air, and the deposition distribution is uniform. This method is often applied to the prevention and control of pests and diseases in greenhouse crops.
According to the relevant personnel of Shandong Provincial Pesticide Testing Institute, there are various methods for pesticide application. However, farmers should pay attention to the different pesticides and pesticide formulations according to different control objects, and appropriate application methods should be selected according to local conditions to achieve better control purposes. .
