This experiment utilizes a phenolic resistance strain gauge with a nominal resistance of R = 1208 ohms, a gauge factor of K = 2.2, and a sensitive area of 2 x 4 mm². The measuring instrument used is the YJR-5A digital strain gauge, which provides accurate and reliable readings. For pressure measurement, a pressure gauge with an accuracy class of 2.5 and a range up to 250 MPa was employed. The test was conducted at room temperature (20°C), where both a working strain gauge and a temperature compensation sheet were used to minimize thermal effects. The expansion or contraction of the tube wall was found to vary linearly with internal pressure, showing good repeatability. However, due to limitations in the testing conditions, high-precision pressure gauges could not be fully utilized, and the relatively large size of the strain gauge's sensitive grid affected the overall accuracy of the results. In the software programming aspect, the DSP must be programmed to generate a start pulse for the MAX153 ADC at a frequency higher than twice that of the input signal, ensuring accurate sampling and conversion. Once the conversion is complete, the INT pin (pin 9) of the MAX153 goes low, triggering the 74LS245 gate, allowing the DSP to read the data through an interrupt routine. When the input voltage is 0V, the 8-bit output is 0000001000000000; at 5V, it becomes 1111110011111111. At 3V, the output is 1001100110011000, with an error margin of no more than 1.2%. Similar accuracy was observed across other input voltages, and this error range meets the requirements of most communication systems. The MAX153 is known for its low power consumption and fast conversion speed. Although only one application was discussed here, its advantages are evident, making it widely used in various analog-to-digital conversion circuits.
