Correction Method for Closing the Shaft Hole

When dealing with a worn shaft hole, it's essential to apply an effective repair method that ensures proper alignment and long-term performance. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to properly close the shaft hole using modern repair techniques. First, you need to assess the extent of wear in the shaft hole. If the wear depth is less than 4 mm in the diameter direction (i.e., less than 2 mm in the radius direction), it's suitable for repair using power tools. Carefully polish the damaged area, but avoid over-polishing the outer surface—rougher surfaces are better as they provide better adhesion for the repair agent. Next, use Keisin 1755 to clean and prepare the outer surface of the bearing hole. This helps remove any contaminants or old residue that might interfere with the bonding process. Apply a thin layer of Kesaixin 1731 release agent to the outer ring of the bearing. This makes future disassembly easier without damaging the component. Prepare the 2311 antifriction repair agent according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Apply this directly onto the outer ring of the bearing, focusing only on the rear half of the outer ring. Ensure the coating is sufficient to fill the gap between the bearing and the shaft hole without causing excessive glue buildup between them. Once applied, carefully push the bearing into the shaft hole. Make sure the repair agent spreads evenly and fills all gaps. Any excess repair agent should be wiped away immediately to prevent contamination. Position the bearing correctly. The simplest way is to install the shaft along with the bearing and let the repair agent cure while maintaining the correct alignment. If more precision is needed, you can use a three-point gasket positioning method or create a custom fixture for accurate installation. After the repair agent has fully cured, the bearing is ready for use. This method not only restores the original dimensions but also enhances the performance and lifespan of the bearing. This technique is especially useful when dealing with minor wear in shaft holes and offers a cost-effective alternative to replacing the entire component.
