Funing was designated as a pilot unit of the textile and apparel industry cluster in Jiangsu Province

On September 1, from Suining, the county and Nanjing Gaochun County were identified as the province's eighth batch of textile and apparel industry cluster pilot units.

According to the relevant person in charge of the county development and reform commission, the textile and clothing industry is one of the county's traditional advantageous industries. From the end of the 1960s to the present, through industrial restructuring and optimization and upgrading, a relatively complete set of cotton cultivation has been established. Spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing, garment processing in one textile and garment industry system, developed into a provincial-level cotton textile industry base. In 2009, there were 43 textile and garment enterprises above designated size in the county, of which 33 were textile enterprises and 10 were garment processing enterprises. This formed a cluster-based development pattern featuring the Tianhong Group as the leader, Jin Conch Textile as the backbone, and numerous small and medium-sized enterprises. In 2009, the yarn production of the county was nearly 150,000 tons, and the number of spindles was about 800,000. The total output value was 2.757 billion yuan, annual sales revenue was about 2.644 billion yuan, and profits and taxes were about 366 million yuan. It is estimated that by 2012, the yarn spindles in the county will break through 1 million pieces, realize an annual sales income of 10 billion yuan, and drive a number of independent brand garment processing enterprises.
