Jaw crusher structure overview

The jaw crusher is a key equipment in the crushing process, designed to break down large rocks into smaller sizes. It consists of several essential components, including a fixed body, a moving part, safety mechanisms, and an adjustment system. Each component plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and reliable operation.

1. Fixed Body: The frame serves as the foundation of the jaw crusher. There are two common manufacturing methods for the frame—casting from medium carbon steel or welding from medium carbon steel plates. The welded frame includes additional reinforcing ribs, and with strict quality control and specific production processes, it achieves performance comparable to that of a cast frame. To prevent excessive wear on the side walls of the frame, protective plates are installed on both sides of the crushing chamber. These plates are easy to replace when worn out, ensuring long-term usability.

2. Moving Part: This section includes the movable jaw, eccentric shaft, bearings, and pulleys. It is responsible for the transmission and load-bearing functions of the jaw crusher.

a. The moving jaw is made up of a moving bracket and a movable jaw. The moving bracket is crafted from 35# cast steel and undergoes quenching and tempering to enhance its strength and durability.

b. The eccentric shaft, typically made of 45# steel, is also tempered to improve its toughness and resistance to fatigue.

c. Bearings used in the jaw crusher are double-row radial spherical roller bearings. These bearings offer precise adjustment, high load capacity, and excellent durability, making them ideal for heavy-duty applications.

d. The swing jaw is divided into two types: movable and fixed. To optimize the crushing efficiency, the surface of the swing jaw is designed with an advanced tooth pattern. The material used is ZGMn13, known for its high hardness, wear resistance, and superior performance in harsh conditions.

3. Adjustment Device: This mechanism allows users to adjust the size of the discharge opening, thus controlling the final product size. Our factory's jaw crusher features two types of adjustment systems: the long wedge type and the top rod gasket type. These designs provide convenient and flexible adjustments, enabling stepless control over the output size.
