High-voltage AC Frequency Conversion Technology Brings Significant Benefits to Reduce Consumption of Chinalco Henan Branch

High-voltage AC variable frequency speed control technology is a new type of electric drive speed control technology developed rapidly in the 1990s. It is mainly used for the frequency control of AC motors, and its technology and performance are superior to any other speed control methods. Frequency conversion speed regulation is recognized for its remarkable energy-saving benefits, high accuracy speed accuracy, wide range of speed control, perfect power electronics protection functions and easy-to-implement automatic communication functions. In addition, it also brings great convenience to the users in terms of safe and reliable operation, installation, maintenance and maintenance, making it the best choice for domestic and foreign companies to adopt motor energy-saving methods.

Chinalco Henan Branch actively promotes the application of this advanced speed control technology, and adopts high-voltage AC variable frequency speed control technology on the No. 3 clinker kiln north-south exhaust hood of Alumina No. 1 Plant and the heat and power plant No. 9 boiler A/B ID fan motor. The operation of the high voltage variable frequency speed control technology in the alumina industry application project is currently successful in the Henan branch, and has achieved good results, and was handed over for acceptance.

The project started construction in July 2006, using ABB's ACS800 series inverters. In November 2006, the A/B side induced draft fan motor of No. 9 boiler of thermal power plant and No. 3 clinker kiln of alumina plant were successfully installed. application. According to the actual operation of the current equipment, the annual energy consumption of the 9# boiler induced draft fan after the frequency conversion transformation of the equipment is 620,000 kW·h/station, and the estimated annual energy consumption of the 6# and 7# exhaust hoods of the clinker kiln is 950,000 kW· h/station. At the same time, due to the drastically reduced operation speed of the induced draft fan, certain economic benefits can be generated, such as prolonging the service life of the equipment and the maintenance cycle of the equipment, and reducing the equipment maintenance costs. Up to now, the frequency conversion control equipment has been operating well, effectively protecting the motor and meeting the needs of the process production to adjust the air volume and the amount of smoke, and has achieved a significant energy saving effect. Compared with the damper air volume and smoke volume model adopted before the application, The electricity saving rate reaches 30%.

The project is the first domestic project to apply high-voltage frequency conversion technology for energy-saving transformation in the alumina industry boiler induced draft fan and clinker kiln smoke exhauster, which has an important demonstration effect, and has a good promotion and application value. With the increasing use of frequency converters in Henan Branch, high-voltage AC variable frequency speed control technology has played an active role in motor protection and energy saving, and has created conditions for Henan Branch to save energy, reduce consumption, and achieve sound and rapid development.
