Man splits eight motorcycles to make solar cars

Mr. Tian, 59, has only a junior high school education, but he has always been fascinated by electrical circuits since he was a child. His passion for innovation led him to the idea of creating a solar-powered electric tricycle. After six years of hard work, dismantling eight three-wheeled motorcycles, and spending over 4,000 yuan, he finally succeeded in building a solar tricycle that runs without gasoline or fuel. He even obtained a utility model patent certificate for his invention. Recently, Mr. Tian showed reporters the solar tricycle he built.

A Solar Vehicle Built Over Six Years

"Don't be fooled by its simple look; this vehicle is fully functional. It has a handle, brakes, a handbrake, a battery charge indicator, and forward/reverse gears—everything you'd expect from a regular electric car," Mr. Tian said with pride. The reporter noticed three large solar panels, each over a meter long, mounted on the top and sides of the vehicle, as well as two voltmeters at the front. Inside, there are two batteries that can be charged alternately by the solar panels. On sunny days, it runs entirely on solar energy, and on rainy days, it switches to battery power, reaching speeds of up to 40 kilometers per hour.

"I first got the idea after watching a TV program in 2005. I realized how limited our energy resources are and how much pollution we cause. As an electrician, I had always thought about creating a solar-powered vehicle," Mr. Tian explained. Since then, he spent six years working tirelessly until he finally completed his solar tricycle.

Dismantling Eight Motorcycles: A Long Journey

"The biggest challenge was matching the voltage from the solar panels with the battery's requirements," Mr. Tian said. Despite his experience in electrical engineering, he spent a lot of time finding the right battery and adjusting the voltage properly. At one point, a battery was damaged due to excessive voltage from the Solar Panel. "There were many challenges during the process. Besides the battery and solar panels, arranging everything in the limited space was also difficult. I bought eight used tricycles, took them apart, and rebuilt them into solar tricycles." So far, Mr. Tian has successfully assembled two solar tricycles.

Legal Requirements for Driving on the Road

Can Mr. Tian drive his solar tricycle directly on public roads? According to officials from the Municipal Vehicle Administration Institute, although Mr. Tian has a valid patent for his invention, it doesn't automatically mean he can drive it legally. "His solar tricycle is considered a motor vehicle. To operate it on the road, he needs proper certification, registration with the traffic police, and must meet all legal requirements. Driving an unregistered or modified vehicle is illegal and could result in penalties," the official warned.

LED Emergency Light

‌The main role of the portable emergency light is to provide lighting in the case of power failure or emergency, help people see the surrounding environment, find the safety exit and evacuation route, and ensure the safety of life. ‌ Portable emergency lights are usually battery powered and can automatically start in the event of a mains failure, providing people with the necessary lighting to reduce panic and anxiety in an emergency ‌.
The specific application scenarios of portable emergency lights include homes, offices, public places, etc. In the home, portable emergency lights can provide lighting during power outages, facilitating daily activities such as cooking, homework, etc ‌. In public places such as shopping malls, hospitals, etc., portable emergency lights can help people quickly evacuate and find safe exits in case of fire or other emergencies. In addition, portable emergency lights are also widely used in outdoor search, rescue, patrol and other workplaces, providing mobile lighting and emergency lighting ‌.
The following points should be noted when using the portable emergency light: First, ensure that the portable emergency light is fully charged or can be used normally after being fully charged; Secondly, in an emergency, start the emergency light according to the product instructions; Finally, avoid placing lamps near damp, hot or flammable objects to ensure safe use ‌.
