Domestically produced 13-ton civil helicopters will fly first at the end of the year

The new domestically produced 13-ton civilian helicopter (provisional AC313) will fly first at the end of the year.

AC313 is based on the original model platform, using the latest and advanced technology, in accordance with the internationally accepted airworthiness standards and the development and airworthiness certification procedures in line with international standards, independent research and development of new civilian helicopters. The machine adopts advanced turboshaft engine, high-power transmission power transmission system, ball flexible composite material rotor system and integrated avionics system, which improves the use of maintenance and comfort, and comprehensively upgrades the structure and system security. The performance has reached the third generation helicopter technology level in the world today and can meet the requirements of high temperature, alpine and plateau and other complex areas.

AC313 was organized by CATIC Helicopter Co., Ltd., Changfei Company, the 60-two Institute, the engine company, and the system company, and jointly developed in accordance with the principle of “joining investment, sharing risks, jointly developing, and sharing the market”.

At present, the AC313 model has been fully developed into the prototyping manufacturing stage. The preparations for the test flights have been fully rolled out. The first flight is scheduled to be completed in December 2009. It is expected that the airworthiness certification will be completed in 2010.

In order to enable AC313 to smoothly reach the civilian market, AC313 conducts research and development work in accordance with international standards, and at the same time, it uses the currently valid international airworthiness standards to obtain evidence. The Aviation Industry Corporation of China set up a leading group for airworthiness forensics, and established a high-level meeting system with the Airworthiness Certification Department (TCB) of the Civil Aviation Administration of China. After the airworthiness experts and research personnel of the Civil Aviation Administration of East China Region set up a joint effort, the key technologies of the 30-minute operation failure of the transmission oil system and the anti-crash of the fuel system achieved breakthrough progress. This marked the development of the AC313. The milestone milestone has laid a good foundation for achieving the goals of airworthiness certification in 2010, which is a major breakthrough in the development history of China’s civil helicopters.

On July 9th, the second high-level regular meeting of AC313 aircraft airworthiness certification was held on June 26th. Zhou Kaixuan, deputy director of the Airworthiness Certification Department of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, and Zheng Qiang, the party secretary of the AVIC Helicopter Company attended the meeting. The research institute and the relevant experts of the airworthiness certification system discussed and discussed the important issues concerning airworthiness certification for the AC313 model, and deployed the follow-up work for model development.

AC313 is a 13-ton medium and large-sized helicopter. It has features such as large cabin capacity, strong carrying capacity, wide adaptation range, and long range. It is mainly applied to personnel/cargo transportation, forest fire prevention, disaster relief, medical rescue, search and rescue, and offshore oil. Services, tourism, business aviation and other aviation fields.
