Sandvik invests in China

On the first anniversary of the financial crisis, the Swedish high-tech industrial group Sandvik did not retreat, on the contrary, accelerated the development in China.

"The international financial crisis has indeed had a great impact on the global economy including China. However, in the context of the financial crisis, we have achieved very rapid development in China, so China will gradually become the largest market." Svene Lindholm, president of Wick Greater China, told reporters yesterday.

It is understood that due to the financial crisis, Sandvik's factories in Europe and the United States, such as Finland and Sweden, have cut production. Even in the past hot markets such as Africa, Latin America and Australia, sales are not optimistic, and Asia has become Sandvik's performance maintains strong support for growth.

Antonin Beurrier, president of Sandvik Mining Engineering Machinery East Asia, said that Sandvik’s sales in the Chinese market increased by 40% in 2008.

Therefore, since the beginning of 2009, Sandvik has planned to manufacture three high-speed die-cutting tools in Shandong, Shandong, and Wuxi, Jiangsu (to produce cemented carbide tools for mining equipment, design and manufacture cutting tools, and to produce hard materials. Six production and R&D bases have been established in areas such as alloy wear-resistant parts and Zhenjiang (production of new alloy materials).

For 2009, Sandvik seems to be a year of "thickness and thinness." On September 17, Sandvik announced that it has built a world-class mining engineering machinery manufacturing plant in Jiading District, Shanghai, covering an area of 120,000 square meters, seven times larger than its first phase in Shanghai in 2005. The new plant is expected to supply more than 3,000 units per set of equipment per year to the mining machinery market in other parts of the Asian world.

“The positioning of Shanghai as a 'shipping center' and 'financial center' will give strong support and support to the logistics center status of the assembly center and Sandvik business development, and it will also receive great attention and support from relevant governments. "Lars Josefsson, president of Sandvik Mining Engineering Machinery, told reporters.

In fact, in May this year, the Shanghai Municipal Government issued the “Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Industrialization of Shanghai High-tech Industry”, which clarified the direction of Shanghai's development of high-tech industries, and plans to achieve a target value of 1.1 trillion yuan in high-tech industries within four years. .

Anthony told reporters that Sandvik will have more new factories in China in the next five years.

Lin Dehong also said that for the Chinese market with an average annual growth rate of more than 20%, Sandvik will certainly meet the demand of Chinese enterprises in reducing emissions, and will provide more advanced products and services to Chinese partners in the fields of efficient production and remanufacturing. .

It is understood that Sandvik's current environmental protection and energy conservation goals are to reduce sales by 10% compared to 2004 and sales of carbon dioxide emissions from 10% of fossil fuels by the end of 2010.
