At present, Nippon Chemical Screw Co., Ltd. is working on the development of screw products using carbon fiber reinforced composite (CFRP). CFRP is a fiber-reinforced resin using carbon fiber, and an epoxy resin having good hardenability and flame retardancy is used in the base material.
The company is also developing a manufacturing method that uses plastic resins and can significantly reduce production costs. It is reported that materials with high strength, high rigidity and light weight have attracted much attention in Japan in the near future, and these materials are expanding in applications such as airplanes and automobiles that are constantly pursuing light weight.
