Angle steel mechanical properties

(1) Inspection Method:

The most commonly used inspection methods for angle steel include tensile testing and bending testing. For tensile testing, standard procedures such as GB/T 228-87, JIS Z2201, JIS Z2241, ASTM A370, GOST 1497, BS 18, and DIN 50145 are widely applied. These standards define the procedures for measuring the mechanical properties of the material under tension. For bending tests, typical standards like GB/T 232-88, JIS Z2204, JIS Z2248, ASTM E290, GOST 14019, and DIN 50111 are frequently used to assess the material's ability to withstand bending without fracturing.

(2) Performance Index:

When evaluating the performance of angle steel, the primary inspection items are tensile and bending tests. Key performance indicators include the yield point, which is the stress at which the material begins to deform plastically; tensile strength, which represents the maximum stress the material can withstand before breaking; elongation, which measures the degree of deformation before fracture; and bend qualification, which determines whether the material meets the required bending criteria. These parameters are essential for ensuring that the angle steel meets the necessary quality and safety standards for its intended application.
