Development trend of stone machinery technology

Stone machinery plays a vital role in the development of the stone industry, and its evolution directly influences the entire sector. At every major international stone exhibition, the latest and most advanced stone machinery always draws significant attention. As the stone industry undergoes transformation, machinery manufacturers are continuously upgrading their technology and accelerating the shift toward intelligent solutions. **Localized Enterprise Technology Upgrades** At the 2013 Xiamen Stone Fair, local stone machinery companies made a strong presence. Brands like Xiagong, Longgong, and Jingong showcased their cutting-edge stone processing equipment, while industry leaders such as Shengda, Fuda, VIA, Giant Wheel, and Wanlong also participated. With a large number of domestic and international buyers attending, these companies displayed their most advanced machines. For example, XGMA introduced a new generation of crawler-type hydraulic excavators with improved performance and quality. These machines featured imported turbocharged engines for stronger power, as well as patented technologies like the "New Adjustable Damping Device" and an "Engine Exhaust Gas Treatment Device," ensuring energy efficiency and reduced emissions. The advancement in stone processing machinery is largely driven by digitalization and smart automation. Large-scale cutting and grinding machines at major exhibition booths now mostly feature numerical control systems. One standout was the intelligent robot from Platinum Machinery, which attracted many visitors. The robot demonstrated skills like stone handling, sanding, and cutting with remarkable precision. According to the booth staff, the robot is fully computer-controlled. By replacing tools, it can perform various basic stone processing tasks and even handle some preliminary engraving work. In harsh environments, labor shortages are becoming more common, and this robot can fully replace manual labor, enabling automated production lines in stone processing. With the integration of other smart devices, stone processing companies can build modern smart factories that revolutionize traditional production models across the industry. **Taiwanese Stone Machinery Companies Bring Sophisticated Technology** In addition to local improvements, Taiwanese stone machinery companies have shown growing interest in the mainland market. At the Xiamen Stone Fair, Lin Gaorong, chairman of the Taiwan Association of Stone and Mineral Products Industry, led a delegation that included numerous Taiwanese machinery firms. Huatongxing Machinery, a company based in Hualien for over 30 years, previously exported to Thailand and Japan. Last year, they benefited from the ECFA early receipt list, allowing them to import tax-free. According to Lin Gaorong, there are tens of thousands of stone factories on the mainland, but few have real stone processing machines. Taiwanese companies have long supplied equipment to European and American clients, giving them mature technology. While the level of machinery in China still lags behind Taiwan, the cost of shipping machines to the mainland—17% VAT plus freight—makes it less competitive compared to European prices. As a result, many Taiwanese companies are now considering setting up assembly plants in the mainland. This approach not only brings advanced technology to the region but also strengthens cross-strait business exchanges, ultimately boosting the overall development of the stone machinery industry.
