How to brush mixed water paint on fir finger joint board

Preparation Work

1. Clean and polish the sandpaper, then apply paint at a reasonable thickness; 2. Seal the bottom of the item with a suitable material; 3. Apply partial putty (gum putty) to smooth out minor imperfections; 4. Apply full putty to cover larger areas; 5. Scrape and re-apply putty for a second time; 6. Polish and remove dust thoroughly; 7. Apply the first coat of primer; 8. Refinish the putty if needed; 9. Polish again and clean the surface; 10. Apply the second coat of primer; 11. Polish and wipe down the surface; 12. Apply the topcoat; 13. Polish and wipe once more; 14. Apply the second coat of paint.

Important Notes:

  • Ensure the putty is not too thick to avoid cracking later;
  • Maintain a moderate concentration of primer for even application;
  • Make sure the primer and topcoat are compatible to prevent peeling;
  • Do not apply paint until the primer is fully dry;
  • Use spraying techniques for a smooth finish, avoiding bright spots or uneven coverage;
  • Ensure no sand marks appear during the spray process.

  • Gypsum powder
  • Mixed water-based paint
  • Talcum powder
  • Cooked rubber powder

2. Oil Mixing Process

Step 1: Remove all dust and dirt from the wood surface.

Step 2: Mix pig blood ash and double fly powder to treat the wood surface.

Step 3: Allow it to dry, then sand with fine sandpaper.

Step 4: Apply the first coat of paint.

Step 5: Touch up any damaged or uneven areas.

Step 6: Dry again and sand the surface once more.

Step 7: Apply the second coat of paint.

Step 8: Dry and sand the surface again.

Step 9: Apply the third and final coat of paint.

It's recommended to apply oil in 2–3 coats for best results. For water-repellent paints, it’s advised to brush at least six times throughout the process.

Additional Steps:

  • Clean, sand, and paint the surface carefully;
  • Brush oil to create a base layer;
  • Apply partial putty and polish;
  • Apply full putty and polish;
  • Brush glue to seal the surface;
  • Apply the first side of water-based primer;
  • Compound putty as needed;
  • Polish and wipe with a damp cloth;
  • Mix water to adjust consistency;
  • Polish and wipe again with a wet cloth;
  • Brush the first side of water paint;
  • Polish and wipe with a damp cloth;
  • Brush the second side of water paint;
  • Brush the third side of mixed paint using a ruler for precision.
