1. Status of Bladder Furnace Lining Refractories
The traditional refractory lining in the former hood furnace is typically constructed using conventional refractory bricks. However, these materials suffer from high thermal conductivity and density, which makes them vulnerable to thermal shock and rapid temperature changes. As a result, they experience significant energy consumption during operation and have a relatively short service life, especially in high-temperature areas such as the burner zones. This has led to an urgent need for more advanced and durable refractory solutions, replacing both traditional bricks and imported refractory materials that are often expensive and less efficient.2. Recent Advances in Special Refractories Application
After years of research and practical application, our factory has developed specialized refractories tailored for bell-type furnaces. These materials can be customized in terms of bulk density, size, and shape to suit different parts of the furnace. For example, we produce lightweight fiber bricks with a patented design, offering a bulk density ranging from 260 to 500 kg/m³. The composition includes over 99% Al₂O₃ + SiO₂, with compressive strength reaching up to 200 kPa and bending strength of 350 kPa. The thermal conductivity is as low as 0.24 W/m·K at 1250°C, and the linear shrinkage after re-shrinkage is below 2%. These refractories can withstand temperatures up to 1550°C, making them highly suitable for demanding industrial applications.For instance, a major enterprise has successfully replaced over 40 hearth furnaces with our domestically produced refractory bricks and materials, achieving significant improvements in efficiency and durability. In this year alone, another cold rolling plant adopted a new approach by implementing a lightweight fiber brick system across 15 fully hydrogen-fired dome furnaces simultaneously. The technology of replacing conventional refractories with high-performance domestic alternatives has now reached a mature stage, offering reliable, cost-effective, and long-lasting solutions for industrial furnace linings.
This innovation not only reduces maintenance costs and energy consumption but also enhances overall operational efficiency, marking a significant step forward in the refractory industry. By continuously improving material properties and application methods, we are helping industries meet modern production demands while promoting sustainable development.
